Information Technology Director

Full Time

The Glen Ellyn Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented professional to lead our Information Technology team. This vital role assists in the planning and implementation of technology services and procedures that meet the goals of the department and satisfies the needs of the community and staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage on-premises and cloud system administration (Active Directory, Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Sonicwall, VMWare, Cisco Wireless, networking)
  • Manage live audio/video production for staff programming and patron meetings
  • Manage public reservations of the Flight Simulator, Media Lab, and Library of Things devices
  • Perform budgeting, purchasing, and invoicing of technology related equipment
  • Ability to look forward and anticipate the technology needs of the library in the future
  • Ability to use analytical skills and search for answers to complex issues affecting networks, systems and applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with library staff and members of all experience levels

Position Details:

Location: Glen Ellyn Public Library, DuPage County

Hours: Full-time; daytime, evening and weekend hours

Salary: Range $39 - $44, Depending on Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

  • Computer Networking-related Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • 10 years of successful network and system administration work experience
  • Proof of Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Azure certifications a plus.
  • Intermediate Windows server AD, DHCP, DNS, VMware, UNIX/LINUX experience
  • Intermediate Azure/Defender/Intune computer management experience. Microsoft 365 email administrator experience
  • Intermediate Sonicwall or other security firewall experience. Experience preventing computer, server and network cybersecurity issues.
  • Intermediate Wifi networking/controller experience.
  • Experience with Windows user profile management.
  • Experience with library ILS: SirsiDynix, Workflows, Enterprise or similar catalog systems
  • Experience with PC time/print management systems: MyPC, Papercut, Princh, Deep Freeze. Experience with audio/video live production, recording, editing, and mixing a plus.
