Summary

Role Overview:

The junior accountant is responsible for managing accounts receivable and helping management prepare payroll semi-monthly. The job duties of the Junior Accountant include reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and monthly adjusting journal entries An understanding of general accounting principles will be helpful for this position, as well as experience with payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
• Handle accounts payable duties, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial analysis and reporting
• Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
• Process accounts receivable/payable on time
• Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Follow accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Previous experience in accounting or internship is a plus
• Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
