SPARE PARTS COORDINATOR (MRO)

Location: Freeport, Texas
Reports to: Warehouse/Maintenance Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary:

The Spare Parts Coordinator (MRO) will follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist Maintenance for necessary parts to make repairs and return parts as necessary in the ERP System.
  • Perform Issue and return transactions in the ERP System.
  • Reconcile after hours’ tickets.
  • Create purchase requisitions for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Reorders and check in inventory.
  • Conduct spot counts when necessary and cycle counts when possible.
  • Conduct annual physical counts at the end of the year to prepare for audit.
  • Perform walk-throughs with auditors and accounting for year-end inventory.
  • When unloading trucks: o Check for damage to all products being received o Verify accuracy of all products. o Enter products received in the ERP System.
  • Ensure labels are printed for all stock material, place stock material in designated place and print a Put-Away
  • Report for record.
  • Deliver/Store material as needed o Label all non-stock material with the following information:
  • PO Number
  • Requestor
  • Date of Receipt o Deliver all non-stock material to the requestor and plan for short-term storage as needed.
  • Prepare paperwork for all shipments to vendors, load trucks as necessary, sign and collect all pertinent paperwork, and file all shipping documents.
  • Act as purchasing after hours for all materials, repairs, and rentals, as needed.
  • Train people on the use of GMR’s ERP System: o How to create purchase requisitions o How to look-up parts
  • Responsible for parts shipping with GMR’s provider.
  • Work with accounting on discrepancies in receipt quantity and pricing.
  • Work with metals recycling company in regards to scrap material and ensure GMR is receiving proper credit for metal recycling.
  • Spotting dumpsters
  • Maintain company truck to ensure: o It has gasoline o It is kept clean (inside and out) o Regular maintenance conducted (oil changes, fluid levels) o Repairs o Inspections/Registration o Insurance paperwork is in truck and up to date.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required along with three years or more warehouse and or chemical loading and unloading experience. Forklift certification required. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Must be able to:

  • Lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Sit, walk, reach, bend, squat, kneel and climb stairs and ladders for an entire shift.
  • Pass respirator fit test and successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Follow written & verbal instructions and communicate to effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Receiving and successfully pass training for OSHA, LOTO, DOT, HAZMAT, NCCER, RCRA, Site-Specific

Training and any other required certifications for the position.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in a plant facility, outdoors in all weather conditions to include extreme heat, cold, wind and precipitation. Work may be performed in tight, confined spaces that require appropriate Personal
  • Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Regularly exposed to dust, noise, odors, chemicals and fumes. Appropriate PPE will be provided and employees are required to wear designated PPE at all times.
  • Rotating shift work is required for this position. Overtime, nights, weekends and holidays may be required per the established schedule or as needed to meet production goals. Employees may be called upon to volunteer for call-out opportunities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, reach, bend, squat, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit test and employment physical including a drug and alcohol test.
  • Must wear safety gear and required PPE.
