Where you will work:
Camp Winacka - A traditional rustic camp with spectacular views. The camp features a pool, miles of hiking trails, green building including a new environmental center and two lakes. Campers choose from programs focusing on aquatics, horses, arts and adventure. Campers and staff sleep in open-air cabins with built-in bunk beds, in platform tents with bunk beds or on cots under the stars.
Your summer will look like this:
Providing effective behavior and camper management counseling by identifying needs and supporting campers and staff.
Ensure that plans are carried out within appropriate GSUSA, council and ACA policies, standards and procedures and local, state and federal laws.
Assists in the direction, supervision and organization of campers in their living unit, during activities, and throughout the camp to provide an outstanding camper experience.
Works with unit staff, administrative team, and camper guardians as needed to develop individualized camper support plans to contribute to the successful experience of select campers.
Helps plan and execute activities within the framework of individual and group interests and abilities.
Incorporates teaching of special skills and an appreciation of the outdoors into all unit activities and day-to-day life.
Assists in program areas such as waterfront, nature, all camp activities and arts and crafts, as directed.
Maintains high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff.
Is alert to campers and staff needs and assist them with personal and/or health problems; consult with camp healthcare staff and/or camp director when appropriate.
Is alert to equipment and facilities to ensure utilization, proper care and maintenance is adhered to; reports repairs needed promptly to camp director.
Maintains clear and positive written and verbal communication with all internal and external clients.

Here’s what it takes:
Must be 21 years of age.?
BA/BS degree OR equivalent work experience in the field of inclusion/child development.??
Two years prior seasons of administration or supervision experience in an organized camp.?
Must be able to obtain current First Aid/CPR/AED certification by the first day of campers’ arrival.?
Ability to interact with all age levels.?
Attends staff meetings.?
Flexible, adaptable; works well in a team.?
Operates well under excitement or stress.?
Attends staff and in-service training during the summer.?
Ability to interact with all age levels.?
Valid drivers’ license, proof of insurance and/or access to reliable transportation. Daily and/or occasional travel may be required.??
