Girl Scouts of Western Washington is Hiring an Individual Donor Relations Manager Near Seattle, WA

Description

Girl Scouts of Western Washington has an opening on the Philanthropy Team as the Individual Donor Relations Manager. The Individual Donor Relations Director is a key member of the Philanthropy Team at Girl Scouts of Western Washington and is responsible for developing and implementing stewardship and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow revenue and cultivate and develop relationships. This position works across the fundraising spectrum touching on events, appeals, individualized and group stewardship, donor cultivation, and administrative support. The Individual Donor Relations Director reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy. This is a regular, full-time, exempt position with an annual pay rate of $75,702.29 - $81,485.94 with a requirement to be or become a WA resident.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Fundraising:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, acting as a trusted and reliable point of contact; Cultivate own small portfolio of mid-level individual donors. 

· Develop new fundraising opportunities by identifying prospective donors and cultivating relationships with them; Develop and implement revenue strategies, which may include peer-to-peer fundraising, membership, alum, and camp giving. 

  • Research prospective donors to identify their interests, possible areas of support, and methods of collaboration.
  • Coordinate and implement all external giving campaigns (Ex: GiveBig and Giving Tuesday).

· Coordinate activities from employee matching gift programs.

· Manage the administration of our general monthly giving program. 

Donor Stewardship

  • Execute comprehensive stewardship plans to cultivate and retain current donors, including planned giving donors, lifetime members, monthly donors, camp donors, event donors, and annual, mid-level, and major gift donors. Partner with appropriate teams (program, camp, etc.) to deliver outstanding stewardship. 
  • As part of the stewardship plan, coordinate recognition and cultivation activities, such as ensuring timely gift follow-up, personalized thank-you letters, donor appreciation events, alumni engagement events, donor birthday recognition, holiday card mailing, and tailored communication materials.
  • Identify opportunities for deeper engagement and involvement with donors, such as volunteering, events, or advisory roles.

Events:

  • Support pre-event and day of logistics for philanthropy-focused events.
  • Manage post-event stewardship for philanthropy events.
  • Support Greater Giving database.
  • Coordinate the organization’s recognition of donors through events or other special recognition opportunities.

Collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Team

  • Collaborate closely with the communications team to align philanthropic messaging and communication strategies to engage both current and prospective donors.
  • Provide input and content for fundraising appeals, newsletters, impact reports, annual reports, and other donor-focused materials.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to lead and coordinate planned giving mailings and communications through digital and traditional means.

Administrative

  • Support mailing list and report generation for marketing appeals, event communications, stewardship, and donor tracking.
  • Collaborate with Donor Data Specialists to maintain an accurate and updated donor database to reflect past, current, and prospective giving, meeting notes, etc. 
  • Work closely with SVP, Philanthropy to prepare board, staff, and donor presentations; support prepping CEO and other Executive leaders for donors meetings.

Other

· Actively participate in the Council’s DEIRJ efforts.

  • Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective listener and problem-solver for diverse people; Contribute to a consistent customer service standard across all departments.

· Develop a depth of knowledge regarding the design of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and can easily articulate to any stakeholder the virtues of the organization.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a fundraiser; specializing in individual giving preferred.
  • Experience in implementing special events, projects, or other similar experiences.
  • Experience in database management or donor CRM; experience with Donor Perfect preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, board/committee members, donors, alums, and volunteers.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences.

· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

· Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities.

· The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Greater Giving and Canva is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to attend donor meetings and events within the Greater Puget Sound Region during the workday, and some nights and/or weekends.

Occasional flexibility to work longer hours, evenings, and weekends as needed.
