Girl Scouts of Western Washington is Hiring a Food Service Supervisor- Summer Season 2024 Near Lilliwaup, WA

Description

Camp Robbinswold is located on Hood Canal, which is part of the Puget Sound. Our program primarily focuses on trip and travel opportunities including but not limited to sea kayaking, canoeing, backpacking, hiking, and watersports. Our waterfront is the hub of activity during the summer season, it is the location of our swim area, boat ramp, and Marine Biology center. We strive to offer a premier outdoor experience for all campers.

The Food Service Supervisor directs the overall food-service operation of the camp, including purchasing, preparation, nutrition, service, sanitation, security, personnel management, customer service, and record keeping. This position begins June 6th and lasts until August 20th. 

Requirements

Paid Summer Staff Training, including but not limited to:

  • Mental Health First Aide Certification
  • First Aide/CPR Certification (current or willingness to obtain via Girl Scouts)
  • Living on camp during summer season (Optional) 
  • Food is provided during training and when camp is in session 

Essential Functions

  • Manage the daily operations of the camp food and dining service including coordinating activities between the kitchen and dining room. 
  • Ensure compliance with state & local health regulations and procedures and the policies and procedures of American Camp Association, Girl Scouts of the USA, and Girl Scouts of Western Washington. 
  • Oversee the planning and preparation of nutritionally balanced camp meals, snacks, and pack-out food. 
  • Oversee the inventory of food, equipment, and supplies and arrange for the routine maintenance, sanitation, and upkeep of the camp kitchen, its equipment, and facilities in coordination with the Site Manager 
  • Support administrative and human-resource functions with regard to kitchen staff including scheduling, coordination, supervision, and performance management.

Qualifications 

  • Minimum age 25 years, preferred
  • Must hold or be willing to attain Washington State Food Worker Card
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain Servsafe Certification 
  • Experience in institutional or large food service setting 
  • Knowledge of and experience in preparation of special dietary foods 
  • Experience in supervision 
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification (training available at camp) 
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license (or ability to obtain one) and excellent driving record preferred
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background search
