Girl Scouts of Western Washington is Hiring a Business Manager- Camp River Ranch Near Carnation, WA

Description

This summer, Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW) is offering an exciting NEW opportunity to experience summer at beautiful Camp River Ranch, a lakefront property nestled in a rainforest in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, in Carnation. The Business Manager plays a vital role in providing structure and support to campers, guests, and staff. 

This position oversees all office operations, including but not limited to adjusting guest reservations; communicating camper/guest needs to the program and property team; checking in individuals arriving to camp; filing and data management, managing the camp store, and performs various office tasks as needed. This person also maintains responsive e-mail and face-to-face communications with campers, guests, troops, and groups along with other duties as needed. Strong organizational skills are a large component of this position and the ability to interface with both internal and external customers with positivity and competence. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as the typical schedule for this position will be Wednesday- Sunday. Overnight housing is optional, staff are not required to stay on camp. Meals will not be provided, however, space to cook and store food will be available.

General Responsibilities  

  • Promote and support Girl Scout program philosophies of the GSUSA & GSWW. 
  • Leads check in/check out procedures with guests/campers. 
  • Answer information requests in a timely, professional, and competent manner. 
  • Answer phones and return phone messages, as well as email, along with relaying messages to camp staff, the site reservations team, and the GSWW camp management team. 
  • Maintains guest reservations, camper and staff files, release forms, and other records by confidentiality policies of GSWW and the American Camp Association. 
  • Responsible for maintaining effective working relationships with staff and creating harmonious relationships with campers, parents, and staff. 
  • Ensure the safety of all campers during their stay by following all policies, procedures, and protocols. 
  • Organizes and ensures administrative tasks are completed promptly. 
  • Maintains a guest-friendly atmosphere 
  • Coordinates both incoming and outgoing communication, including but not limited to: camper mail/camper e-mail, picture taking/uploading, answering caregiver questions as needed, etc. 
  • Provide quality customer service that resolves concerns by offering creative solutions promptly 
  • Be a role model to campers and staff in your attitude and behavior 
  • Communicate and work with all staff, campers, and caregivers in a mature manner 
  • Participate in camp life, including but not limited to assisting with activities, campfire, staff training, meetings, and camp cleaning as needed 
  • Carry out established duties regarding camper/guest health, safety, and program goals 
  • Set a good example by demonstrating maturity, good communication, cleanliness, punctuality, sportsmanship, sharing, and following camp policy among other traits 
  • Exhibits good judgment and risk management assessment skills. 
  • Exhibits mature and responsible behavior at all times. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma/GED required 
  • Desire and willingness to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information 
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and takes initiative 
  • Desire and ability to answer phones and questions 
  • Ability to drive a golf cart or camp vehicle to respond quickly to guest needs 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently of close supervision 
  • Current CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain 
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control 
  • Ability to receive instruction and supervision 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Age 25
  • Knowledge of Girl Scout camp 
  • Experience with reservation systems and the hospitality industry 
  • Previous experience answering phones and using a copy machine 
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or CampMinder 
  • Valid Driver’s license for at least 5 years, clean driving record, and ability to drive a 12-passenger van
