Description

The Maintenance Technician is a champion of top-notch customer service for our residents, future residents,

and tenants, as well as the front line in customer care by exceeding expectations in a positive and

professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PROJECTS

  • Conduct apartment turnover duties, including cleaning, repairs, and painting.
  • Complete all work orders in a timely manner, maintain accurate records, preventative maintenance, and site and grounds inspections
  • Perform various duties such as building repairs and snow removal/shoveling to provide residents with a clean and well-maintained living environment
  • Maintain property grounds through daily inspection, clean-up, and preventative care
  • Maintain and care of equipment as necessary for its continuous operation
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies
  • Complete emergency repairs as required
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
  • Comply with site safety and hazardous communication standards
  • Deliver resident correspondences as requested
  • Perform any additional tasks as requested
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call scheduled rotation
  •  Abide by all local, stat,e and federal Fair Housing guidelines.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, general education degree, or related Vocational Training and/or equivalent work experience
  • Basic knowledge of apartment building systems and maintenance preferred
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to ensure all service requests are responded to in a timely manner.
  • General basic knowledge of plumbing, appliances, mechanical, electrical, drywall repair, HVAC systems, and carpentry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to display effective communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Minimum Physical Expectations:
  • Physical activity that requires the ability to exert 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 lbs. consistently
  • Physical activity that, on occasion, requires lifting or moving 100 lbs. or more
  • Physical activity that requires the ability to operate standard tools frequently
  • Physical activity that sometimes requires travel by car
  • Physical activity that requires the ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Physical activity that requires the ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face-to-face (in English) for periods of time.
