Description
Position Summary: Coordinates administrative and operational activities of the School Health Program including EPDST clinic and other school Health screenings through coordination of the functions, activities and information necessary to ensure optimal operational efficiency and effectiveness of the area and compliance with established quality, licensing and regulatory standards.
Critical Tasks:
Manages daily administrative and assists with operational activities of the School Health Services program and clinics to ensure efficient and effective delivery of quality customer service to patients and families.
Assists in establishing and evaluating workflow and work processes; identifies opportunities for improved efficiencies and elimination of redundant/inefficient activities.
Assists in Investigating and following up on patient and staff complaints/issues to ensure timely response and/or appropriate resolution to concerns/issues.
Prepares, monitors and supervises billing and charge capture activities.
Works closely and cooperatively with Patient Accounts/Registration areas to ensure timely resolution of problems, issues and concerns regarding patient activity.
In conjunction with Director, identifies, develops and provides for education and training of staff designed to further skills, knowledge and competency.
Participates in annual planning and operating budget recommendations to increase operational effectiveness and compliance with changing regulation.
Assists in recruiting and selection of staff, establishes schedules, initiates development plans, disciplinary action and performance evaluations.
In conjunction with Director, develops, implements, reviews and/or revises standards, policy and procedure manuals and/or quality improvement initiatives.
Reviews electronic time entries, edits and follows up with staff member to ensure accuracy of records.
Prepares and distributes monthly status and statistical reports of activities.
Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives.
Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skills and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Business Administration or closely related field; equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute.
At least 3 years previous medical office management experience.
