Description

Holy Cross School serves those students residing at Gibault Children's Services for treatment, as well as community-based children through the Day Treatment program. We are currently seeking teachers who would be responsible for the effective academic instruction of the youth.We look for employees who are energetic and motivated to help influence a positive change in the lives of those we help. Staff are expected to serve as a positive role-model, from both a professional and personal aspect.

Teacher Performance Standards

• Keep up to date of current developments in their area(s) of instruction and in the education field in general by attending classes, workshops, or in-services.
• Prepare lesson plans and classroom materials in advance of scheduled classes and turn in weekly lesson plans to the school office the first day of the week.
• Provide client supervision in non-teaching duties and extracurricular activities as assigned by the Principal.
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date electronic grade book regarding the progress of each student including the recording and reporting of daily attendance in a timely fashion.
• Function as an active participant of a Unit Treatment Team, providing the necessary academic background and school information on each client to help the team in planning treatment.
• Implement and maintain the school discipline policy and refer serious or repeated disciplinary problems to the appropriate chain of command.
• Serve on departmental and institutional committees assigned by the administration.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Specified Bachelor's Degree in Education
• Current Indiana teaching license
• Special Education license strongly preferred, experience with IEPs preferred
