DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Level III DevOps Engineer, you will hold a key role in our goal to secure, migrate and ready our commercial SaaS systems to the AWS GovCloud, enabling GHX commercial solutions for use by the US Federal Government. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our continuous integration and delivery pipelines. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Commercial Business Intelligence.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Develop (code/script) and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines according to specifications using appropriate tools.
2. Implement automation tools for server provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment in accordance with federally regulated standards.
3. Collaborate with development teams to facilitate system security and CI/CD processes and best practices.
4. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
5. Contribute to system architecture documentation, team documentation reviews, and design reviews.
6. Adheres to IT Control Policies throughout design, development, and testing.
7. Works with cross-functional teams and interacts with internal and external business partners to verify/clarify business requirements and design decisions.
8. Stay current with emerging technologies and emerging trends to drive innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
2. AWS experience required, AWS GovCloud experience required, AWS Certification (Preferred).
3. 5 years experience as a DevOps engineer.
4. 3-5 years experience as a DevOps engineer on the AWS technology stack.
5. 3-5 years experience creating network diagrams and disaster recovery plans (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong scripting proficiency (Bash, CloudFormation, Python)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, or Bamboo)
• Excellent problem solving skills and team-oriented attitude
• Knowledge of FedRAMP Regulations strongly preferred
• Understanding and experience with monitoring and alerting tools
• Highly proficient in cloud and microservice architectures
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Highly organized

Estimated salary range: $90,000 - $115,000 

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
