Job Summary:

We are hiring a Purchasing Agent for our Camarillo operation. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing and tracking materials, supplies and equipment for our organization.

This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to meticulously track inventory and receiving and follow forecast. Excellent communication and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential to this role. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, terms, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure best value for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, including supplier contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, product advancements, and pricing changes to ensure the organization remains competitive.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Communicate well with accounting to help insure accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to learn other responsibilities like logistics, planning, guiding transition projects from one supplier to a new supplier (plan, schedule and communicate when vendor equipment needs to be replaced by new vendor equipment).
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Ability to switch between numerous entities, locations and product groups without mixing them up.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in Procurement environment.
  • Experience with various purchasing software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure with the ability to deliver on time.
  • Commitment to quality and ethics.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external parties.
  • Bilingual Spanish is desirable.
  • Experience with Agriculture and inventory control are very desirable.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Background check and/or Live Scan required.
