Get Spiffy Inc. is Hiring an Automotive Operations Supervisor Near Scottsdale, AZ

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Automotive Operations Supervisor will have primary day-to-day responsibilities for the field operations, and will assist the General Manager in the growth, health, and overall performance of the assigned market. This position is primarily a hands-on operational position.

Hours: Weds-Sun AM Shift

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and direct a team of automotive technicians, and provide the hands-on support needed to achieve performance metrics and quality standards;
  • Ensure every member of the team is properly trained and consistently following company service processes;
  • Engage team members in proactively resolving customer issues in a timely and effective manner;
  • Coordinate daily activities and manage the flow of day-to day operations;
  • Motivate and build morale within the team, ensuring the operation maintains high standards of quality, honesty, integrity, and trust by following the processes and holding people accountable to quality and processes;
  • Promote safety and operational consistency through daily observations, routine quality checks, and ongoing training;
  • Assist the General Manager and make recommendations related to employee hiring, firing, and performance evaluation.


OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a subject matter expert in all Spiffy lines of business and services such as wash and detail, preventative maintenance, tire changes, etc.
  • Ensure all service vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, organized, clean and in good working condition – adhere to a regular preventative maintenance program, perform routine repairs and maintenance, and work with outside vendors to resolve unusual or complex service problems;
  • Maintains records of time, materials, and work performed;
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of supplies, and equipment repair/replacement parts as required to efficiently operate in your market;
  • Assist technicians as needed with all activities associated with the various lines of business;
  • Other duties as assigned


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong technical knowledge in automotive preventative maintenance, car wash and detail, tire rotations and repairs, and other relevant services;
  • Able to resolve problems ensuring that decisions are made based on policies, rules, and organizational directives and solving the emerging problems with customers, operations, and employees;
  • Adept at setting priorities and efficiently utilizing people and equipment;
  • Ability to listen and take direction agreeably;
  • Able to discuss and resolve problems;
  • Ability to motivate and inspire technicians;
  • Able to communicate effectively with technicians, management, and our clients;
  • Possess strong leadership characteristics including personal integrity and accountability, trustworthiness in relationships, commitment to quality and excellence in programs and operations;
  • Able to work independently with little direction;
  • Able to build positive relationships with employees and customers;
  • Able to effectively deal with pressure and ambiguity;

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, technical degree highly desired;
  • Three (3) years leading a team;
  • Industry, customer service, retail and food service experience highly preferred;
  • Proven ability to lead people and have excellent knowledge of field operations;
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance and other services;
  • Basic understanding of financial statements such as profit and loss statements;
  • Proficient at math (such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute percentages);
  • Efficient at using a computer, smartphone, MS Word and MS Excel;
  • Able to drive vehicles and have a valid driver’s license;
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently, functional understanding of Spanish is a plus


WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job will involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, dust/dirt and exhaust fumes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods;
  • Must be able to lift and move inventory items and other work-related items (up to 50 pounds);
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods;
  • Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, lift, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, climb steps, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, all of this for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the day.
