Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Corporate Legal Intern to join our dynamic legal team. The intern will gain valuable experience working alongside our experienced attorneys on a wide range of corporate legal matters, as well as assisting with HR responsibilities and operational transactional tasks and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting legal research on corporate governance, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate legal issues
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and memoranda
- Participate in due diligence processes for various corporate transactions
- Help prepare materials for board meetings and shareholder communications
- Attend and take notes during conference calls and meetings with clients and external counsel
- Maintain and organize legal files and databases
- Provide general administrative support to the legal team as needed
- Assist with HR-related tasks, such as reviewing and updating employee handbooks and policies
- Help draft and review employment contracts and separation agreements
- Conduct research on labor laws and regulations to ensure company compliance
- Support the legal team in operational transactional tasks, such as preparing and filing corporate documents, licenses, and permits
- Assist with the management of intellectual property portfolios, including trademarks and copyrights
- Participate in special projects as assigned, such as process improvement initiatives or data analysis
Requirements:
Current law student (J.D.) in good standing at an accredited law school
Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in corporate law
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Previous legal internship experience is a plus
Familiarity with HR practices and employment law is a plus
