Responsibilities

  • Schedule drivers according to operational needs.
  • Monitor "Hours of Service" and other DOT Compliance items for all CDL Drivers
  • Assist in the forecast of CDL drivers, tractor, trailer, and equipment requirements.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of vehicles, forklifts, and other freight equipment to ensure show and warehouse equipment needs are met.
  • Remain current on DOT rules & regulations.
  • Monitor and approve timecards and PTO of direct reports.
  • Ability to backfill all roles in the event a team member is out. To include operating a forklift.
  • Oversee projects and initiatives to increase productivity, reduce downtime and effectively manage equipment.
  • Provide leadership, training and knowledge to drivers, freight, and small package receiving union personnel.
  • Provide disciplinary action to personnel when required.
  • Promote safety, quality, great customer service and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean, efficient, and safe working environment for warehouse employees.
  • Develop teamwork, high productivity, and morale with all warehouse employees.
  • Ensure all GES work rules and policies are communicated, understood, and followed.
  • Perform other duties assigned and deemed necessary for the position under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.
  • Adhere to all GES policies and procedures including safety & Always Honest.
  • Promote GES best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification and/or Class A CDL a plus
  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Industry experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a diverse workforce
  • Three (3) to five (5) years in an operational / warehouse environment
  • Experience in management/supervisory functions.
  • Strong organizational skills, effective under pressure, meeting deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with high personal standards for performance & conduct
  • Detail oriented, enthusiastic leader with experience in a union environment.
  • Proficiency in MS suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and able learn other computer programs.
  • Requires ability to adapt to multiple settings and shifting responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Work Environment

  • Position may require long hours during several months of the year. 
  • Frequently encounters uncomfortable temperatures, dust and/or other conditions.
  • Requires working both alone and with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Requires working with union and Non-Union employees.
