Department Information
The School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology places a strong emphasis on scientific research, discovery & innovation, and interdisciplinary education. Housed in the beautifully renovated J. S. Coon Building, a historical landmark in the center of campus, the School is a member of the College of Sciences. Faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students alike engage in an array of wide-ranging topics related to the field of Psychology. The School categorizes this research into five program areas: Cognition and Brain Science, Cognitive Aging, Engineering Psychology, Industrial/Organizational psychology, and Quantitative Psychology.

Job Summary

Perform a variety of technical activities required for conducting tests and experiments in a school or research laboratory within the Institute. Includes data collection and analyses, experiment preparation and equipment setup and operation. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and research faculty, co-workers. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: This position will be supervising 8-12 undergrad research assistants.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests, experiments, etc
Job Duty 2 -
Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records..
Job Duty 3 -
Operate various equipment used in research studies.
Job Duty 4 -
Participate as directed in experiment design and preparation.
Job Duty 5 -
Participate as directed in preparation of presentations and manuscripts.
Job Duty 6 -
Maintain laboratory equipment.
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of research lab equipment and support processes and practices. Includes skill in data organization, statistical analysis and use of statistical and scientific computer applications.

Salary range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour based on education and experience
