Job Summary

Provide a wide range of services in support of assigned research projects and programs within an academic/research unit or center. Services include organizing, monitoring and reporting program activities and progress, promoting unit research capabilities to various audiences and managing program budgets. Responsible for setting or contributing to employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Unit and program/project management, research staff/faculty and administrative personnel, vendors and potential and active sponsors. This position typically will advise and counsel: Unit and program/project management, research faculty/staff and administrative personnel, vendors, potential and active sponsors. This position will supervise: program staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Lead efforts in promoting unit's research services and capabilities to potential sponsors and partners (marketing, trade shows, events, fundraising and development, forums, etc.).
Job Duty 2 -
Formulate and upon approval, administer research program budgets; oversee preparation of budget and other financial reports.
Job Duty 3 -
Prepare operational plans for assigned programs, direct and monitor program activities relative to plan .
Job Duty 4 -
Conduct follow-up efforts to determine if program/project objectives were met.
Job Duty 5 -
Coordinate the procurement of equipment, materials and supplies required for program development and completion.
Job Duty 6 -
Establish and maintain viable relations with representatives from sponsoring organizations.
Job Duty 7 -
Plan and supervise activities of support staff.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

SKILLS
This job requires skills in project/program management, marketing/promotion, client relations, customer service and technology specific to assigned area of operations. Also required are organization and communications skills and use of office and specialized computer applications.
