Job Summary

Provide specialized administrative support services to attorneys in the Office of General Counsel. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paralegal to support our legal team.
This position will supervise: N/A

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Review and summarize significant terms of Georgia Tech business records
Job Duty 2 -
Prepare legal materials, legal memos, documents, and correspondence under the supervision of an attorney
Job Duty 3 -
Draft responses to legal complaints and other documents
Job Duty 4 -
Assist with maintaining filing system and internal tracking tools
Job Duty 5 -
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding office-related procedures and processes
Job Duty 6 -
Participate in special projects as needed and develop, prioritize, and monitor achievement of project goals
Job Duty 7 -
Conduct legal research
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years college course work or equivalent combination of education and experience

Proposed Salary

Hourly $30.45 to $39.75

o In-depth knowledge of legal office administration and preparation of complex legal documents
o Skills in legal research; knowledge of Georgia law and requirements relating to state entities and
educational institutions; and
o Communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also required
o Excellent research skills, able to multi-task several assignments under tight deadlines and
proficient in Microsoft Office

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

* Coordinate and support Board of Directors and committee meetings, including scheduling the meetings

and assisting in the preparation, distribution, and electronic posting of meeting packages.

* Assist with the preparation of board related materials including resolutions, consents, and meeting

minutes.

* Support the governance and management of 501(c)3 entities and subsidiaries.

* Assist in managing bond finance transactions, due diligence, and ongoing bond compliance.

* Prepare regulatory filings and assist in maintaining regulatory compliance.

* Assist in the preparation of contracts, including lease or rental agreements.

* Participate in special projects as needed and develop, prioritize and monitor achievement of project goals.

* Implement/manage a board platform and legal file system.

* Prepare legal memos, documents, and correspondence under the supervision of an attorney, including

software licenses, lease renewals, conflict of interest disclosures, memorandum of understanding and

operating agreements.

* Assist attorneys in conducting legal research.

* Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding office related procedures and processes.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Degrees required for this job: Paralegal/Technical certificate, Associate's Degree or two years

college course work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Degrees preferred: Bachelors degree Years of experience
