TheTechnicalCollegeSystemofGeorgia(TCSG)isseekinghighlyqualifiedapplicantsfortheirfull-time Bilingual Foreign Labor Certification Housing Inspector position in the Office of Workforce Development.

 

OVERVIEW:

The Bilingual Housing Inspector plays a vital role in the Office of Foreign Labor Certification, responsible for providing customer service and guidance to agricultural employers. The main activity inthispositionwillbetoconducthousinginspectionsforH2Aemployers.Theincumbentwillconduct inspections, assess living conditions, and verify adherence to housing regulations as per federal guidelines. Individualswillalso conduct avarietyofWIOATitle IIIWagner-Peyserduties.Theposition requires access to a vehicle and constant travel. NOTE: These positions require a lot of travel, as they cover the entire northeastern and northwestern regions of Georgia.

 

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.ConductHousingInspectionsforH2AEmployers:Visitandinspecthousingfacilitiesprovidedby employers to foreign workers to ensure that the housing assured by the employer is either available and meets the applicable housing standards or has been approved for conditional access to the clearance system.

2.EvaluateHousingConditions:Assessthecondition,safety,andadequacyofhousingunits, including amenities, sanitation, safety features, and overall living conditions.

3.DocumentationandReporting:Documentinspectionfindings,preparedetailedreports,and maintain accurate records of housing inspections, noting any deficiencies or violations.

4.CoordinateHousingInspection:maintainingandschedulinghousinginspections.

5.Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with employers, government agencies, and stakeholderstoaddresshousingcomplianceissues,provideguidanceonregulations,andoffer recommendations for corrective actions.

6.PolicyCompliance:Stayupdatedwithfederal,state,andlocalhousingregulationsandensure adherence to these standards as it related to Foreign Labor Certification and housing requirements.

7.ProgrammaticSupport:Evaluatepolicies,standards,andprocedurestodevelopimproved working processes.

8.TrainingandGuidance:Provideguidanceandtrainingtoemployersandstakeholderson housing compliance requirements and best practices.

9.Flexibility:Beabletoworkonshortandtightdeadlines.

10.Travel:TraveltohousinginspectionsandeventsacrosstheStateasneeded.

11.Conduct WageSurveys: During low season periods forFLC housing inspections, inspectors will collect,analyze,andcompiledatainordertocompleteprevailingwageandpracticesurveysto be reported to USDOL.

12.ProvisionofGeneralEmploymentServices:Whenneeded,assistwiththeprovisionofWIOA Title III employment services to include, but not be limited to:

·Staffingcallcenter.

·WorkingWorkSourceGeorgiaqueues

·ProvidingcustomersupportincompletingWagner-Peyserapplications.

·AssistingintranslationservicesforcustomersinCareerCentersorbeingserviced virtually.

·StaffingvirtualservicequeuesforEmploymentServices.

13.PerformsOtherDutiesasassigned.

 

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS

·Highschooldiplomaor itsequivalentandtwoyearsof experience inarelatedfieldor anAssociate’s degree.

·Bilingual with ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish (required)

 

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

·Experienceinhousinginspection,codeenforcement,orrelatedfieldsmaybepreferred.

·Knowledgeofhousingstandards,buildingcodes,safetyregulations,andrelatedlaws.

·Proficiencyinusinginspectiontools,technology,andjob-relatedsoftwareforreportingand documentation.

·GeneralknowledgeofWIOATitleIIIWager-Peyserservices.
