Georgia state government is Hiring a Behavioral Health Provider (LPC) Near Milledgeville, GA

We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Provider (LPC) who can provide services for our IFID (Intensive Family Intervention Detail program. As well asto join our team in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day.We are located in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved.

Summary of Duties

The Behavioral Health Provider provides rehabilitative and environmental support services. He/she works in collaboration with, social service agencies, and community organizations to coordinate resources in an environment that promotes resiliency, supports the emotional and functional growth and development the consumers that we serve.

Responsibilities

·Utilize and provide Intensive Family Intervention Detail (IFID) (Details below)

oA service intended to improve family functioning by clinically stabilizing the living arrangement, promoting reunification or preventing the utilization of out of home therapeutic venues (i.e. psychiatric hospital, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, or residential treatment services) for the identified youth.

oServices are delivered utilizing a team approach and are provided primarily to youth in their living arrangement and within the family system.

·Conducts face-to-face comprehensive assessments to identify problems and service needs.

·Provides direct therapeutic counseling services for students and/or their families. Coordinates the implementation and management of services as directed in care plan.

·Assist students and family/responsible caregivers in the facilitation of the Individual Resiliency Plan (IRP) including providing skills to support the students/family’s self-articulation of personal goals and objectives.

·Planning in a proactive manner to assist the student/family in managing or preventing crisis situations.

·Develops comprehensive care plans utilizing information from in-depth assessments, other service providers, physicians, team members and client/representative.

·Identify environmental impediments to student progress through interviews and review of records.

·Monitors, evaluates, and records student progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan.

·Organizes support groups or counsel family members to assist the social services support worker in understanding, dealing with and supporting the student.

·Refers student or family to community resources to assist in recovery from mental/behavioral health illness and to provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement or education.

·Serves as student/consumer liaison or case coordinator to facilitate and ensure communication, linkage and continuity of care between student/consumers and physicians, other organizational components, community resources and service providers.

Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Submit to and pass a pre-employment:
    • Drug screen
    • DBHDD Federal Background check
    • Local Criminal Background check
    • No more than four (4) points on a seven (7) year Motor Vehicle Report ?
      *If more than (4) points an approved DDS course to reduce points must be taken.

Qualifications

·Master's degree in a related field of work from an accredited college or university

·Professional licensure in the state of Georgia as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT

·Two Years’ Experience of working in Behavioral Science Area

·Experience in Behavioral Health Field

·CPR/First Aid/AED/BLS Certification

·Previous experience implementing the IFID program.

·Ability to travel a minimum of 40% of the time. (Local Travel)

Knowledge & Skills

·Must be a self-started and work independently;

·Must be highly organized and efficient;

·Computer skills required (internet, word processing and spreadsheet programs);

·Must be able to perform assignments with minimal supervision;

·Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures;

·Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis;

·Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR certification as an addiction counselor from the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) or equivalent certification.
