Georgia state government is Hiring a Behavior Specialist Near Greenville, GA

The individual in this role will serve as a member of the Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Crisis Support team.The focus of this program is to provide time-limited home and community based crisis services that support individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities in the community.An essential component of this program is the assessment of the individual situation to determine the appropriate response to the crisis. Crisis services occur through intensive on-site or off-site supports.The crisis supports are provided on a time-limited basis.

Responsibilities for the Behavior Specialist will include but not be limited to the following:

 

Assesses current crisis, identifies behaviors associated with the crisis and works in conjunction/consultation with other professionals and paraprofessionals to identify supports needed.

Act as client advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations

Provides direct services in a variety of settings including providing in home supports and out of home supports/crisis support home

Provides assistance, training and technical assistanceto consumer’s naturalsupports

Conducts an analysis of behaviors in a crisis situation with an emphasis on conducting a functional analysis of the situation

Maintains confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment

Monitors, evaluates, and records client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan

Prepares and maintains all required treatment records and reports.

Master's degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field AND Four years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Behavioral Hlth Counselor 2 (HCP101) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require certification or licensure.
