This position reports to: CFO and is a Full -Time position.

What You would do:

· Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, and internal policies, procedures, and controls

· Administer organizational systems to ensure reliability of data and provide feedback for improvements

· Advance the best application of the accounting system to deliver functionality that complements the ministry’s goals and objectives

· Prepare and post journal entries

· Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts

· Conduct treasury fee analysis and manage treasury bank relationships

· Assist in coordinating and completing workpapers required for the annual financial audit, and the requisite notes and supporting schedules

· Collaborate on special projects

· Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, clients, and visiting entities

· Function as a team player who adds enthusiasm and effort to ministry-wide emphases, sometimes crossing functional areas (fund raising, promotion, accounting, and administration) so we can provide excellent client services

What You would need to bring to the position:

Experience:

· Proven track record of accounting leadership for a financial institution, or similar entity, with assets exceeding $200 million

· 6 years combined public and private accounting experience, with at least 3 continuous years with one company

· Working knowledge of nonprofit and investment accounting, financial statement compilation, financial statement disclosures, and accounting software

· Accountability for journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and lease accounting

· Practiced in researching GAAP, tax code, and other compliance mandates

· Demonstrated successful communication skills within an organization and with external stakeholders

Qualifications and competencies:

· CPA license – current

· Leadership and management skills

· Financial literacy in the areas of investments, church and charitable gift taxation, and fiduciary trustee law desired

· Experience with bank custody accounting software a plus

· Capable of database extraction, analysis, and reporting

· Advanced Excel skills

· Spirit of cooperation that fosters a productive operation

Other Requirements:

· Ability to work independently, while maintaining clear communication with direct reports, senior management, and at all levels within the organization

· Superior ability to organize, manage time and set priorities while meeting deadlines

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Successful completion of a background check to verify previous employment, credentials, education, and search for criminal convictions among other items

· Be willing to support team members with a spirit of Christ-like servanthood

· Possessing a lifestyle that is consistent with the teachings of Jesus and the Bible

· Values: Integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, embracing performance excellence and accuracy, servant leadership, teamwork, humility, and respect for others

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

· The position requires extended periods of sitting or standing at a computer desk, focusing on dense data displays on computer monitor/s and documents, accurate use of a keyboard and 10-key keypad, as well as voice interactions with clients and vendors; occasional walking and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds

· The Foundation permits limited telecommuting and flexible scheduling. The job must be performed in the office the majority of the time. In-office staff collaboration is essential to work creativity, problem resolution, and trust building. In-office work is also required to manage confidential documents and conduct in-person banking matters, including the preparation, and management of physical checks and secure mail.

The financial benefit of the position:

A competitive salary at an annual rate of $120,000 - $145,000
