GEON Performance Solutions is Hiring an Engineering Manager Near Avon, OH

The Manager, Engineering provides maintenance and process engineering management as well as directional leadership for a single plant site. The Manager, Engineering coordinates all maintenance, reliability, engineering, controls, process, project, and electrical work for a single plant site.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reliability and continuous improvement of all equipment.
  • Manage and direct maintenance and process engineering teams to support overall plant objectives.
  • Oversee instrumentation and electrical (I & E) maintenance work daily to maximize uptime of process equipment and maintain quality of product.
  • Ensure that all code and compliance requirements are met. If not met, formulate detailed plans to correct.
  • Oversee all capital projects at the plant site, including monetary budgets and timing.
  • Assist with contractual agreements so they are met with site companies and provided necessary coverage.
  • Ensure effectiveness of the Reliability Program and that PdM’s, PM’s, and calibrations are completed on time.
  • Ensure effective management of critical spares for the plant’s operating equipment.
  • Analyze instrumentation, electrical and mechanical maintenance work and resolve repetitive problems.
  • Recommend new equipment and/or preventative techniques to improve reliability.
  • Provide PLC installation, programming, and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Prioritize tasks and drive progress on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Operate and troubleshoot process equipment.
  • Design electrical control and power wiring/schematic diagrams.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of electric power distribution.
  • Forward-thinking regarding predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable of how the material is manufactured, the connection between equipment parameters, and the success of making quality product in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Understand the marketplace and customer needs. Is able and eager to translate customer needs into GEON’s capabilities to achieve profitable relationships.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering is required.
  • 9 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with proven competency in both maintenance and process engineering is required.
  • 4 years of experience operating in a leadership capacity is required.
  • Experience with compounding equipment is required.
  • Experience with PM, Process Control, and PLC programs is required.
  • Experience with polymers is preferred.
