Geoff McDonald and Associates is looking for an associate attorney to join its growing practice. Qualified candidate will handle a portfolio of cases to include pre-litigation/claims, litigation, trial prep and trial (General District Court and Circuit).

Qualified candidate must have a Virginia law license.

The right attorney will have compassion and understanding for the clients they represent. They will also have integrity and excellence for the work they will be doing for the Firm. The ideal candidate must be able to adhere to the Firm's core values and possess skills to build strong, long-lasting client relationships.

Candidate must be able to autonomously handle a large volume of files, meet deadlines, create litigation plans, and conduct discovery while maintaining exceptional client interaction. Experience working with Virginia workers' compensation cases is a plus. Fluency in Spanish is a major plus!

The position will require managing a caseload of personal injury and other matters, including:

• Evaluating potential new cases;
• Meeting with current and potential clients;
• Overseeing pre-litigation workup of cases;
• Conducting settlement negotiations;
• Filing complaints and other pleadings;
• Attending trials, depositions, hearings, and other court appearances;
• Overseeing disbursement of recoveries;
• Maintaining excellent client and peer relationships.

Ideal candidates must have excellent attention to detail, stellar organization skills and the ability to not only communicate well but to fully grasp real-life implications that these cases have on our clients.
