Middle School Math Teacher

GEO Next Generation Middle School/High School in Indianapolis is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a valid teaching license and a passion for teaching math to students in grades 6-8.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the needs of diverse learners
• Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning and engagement
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math education
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in education
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent/teacher conferences
• Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible
• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff

Requirements

 Requirements:

• Valid State of Indiana Professional Educator of Initial Practitioner license in Middle School Math (Emergency Permits/Substitute licenses cannot be accepted)
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Strong knowledge of math content and pedagogy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
• Strong organizational and time management skills
