Contracts Manager

Responsible for supporting the development, growth, and execution of Aypa’s renewables procurement platform of energy storage and solar hybrid technologies. The Contracts Manager position will involve interfacing with vendors, deal scoping, and overall contracting support. This role is core to fostering Aypa’s growth with targeted contract management to ensure all projects receive the appropriate equipment and services.

Responsibilities:

• Support curation of Aypa standard policies and exhibits in battery and solar PV supply and EPC contracts;
• Work with internal and external councils on supply and EPC contracts and act as the authority on all contractual exhibits to progress deals to completion;
• Collaborate with legal, finance, engineering, and commercial teams to structure optimal scoping in supply and EPC contracts;
• Support the Procurement and Pre-Construction managers to incorporate negotiated terms and conditions into contract agreements, ensuring alignment with project requirements and objectives;
• Interface with research and consulting firms such as BNEF, Wood Mackenzie, SMM, NREL, and external councils to stay abreast of changes in the industry, supply chain, and geopolitics. Use learned strategies to improve commercial outcomes;
• Assist in creating easy-to-digest summaries for executive consumption of key contractual terms;
• Work closely with internal and external resources to structure, negotiate, and close project transactions related to acquisitions, financings, and divestitures, as well as commercial and technical contract agreements leveraging knowledge base from EPC and supply contracting;
• Provide input into the company business plan and development strategy;
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction/project management, contract management, or related field;
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in utility-scale renewables contracting. Experience in battery storage contracting preferred;
• Exceptional organizational skills to efficiently oversee and manage the contract lifecycle process;
• Familiarity with renewable or thermal generation procurement and construction;
• Strong leadership skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, including a demonstrated proactive work ethic;
• As part of a lean and dynamic team, the candidate must be able to plan, oversee, and personally execute numerous projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities.

Compensation and Location:

• Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience;
• Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on individual performance and the business's overall success;

• Location: Hybrid; Austin, TX. The ability to work in the United States is a requirement;
• Travel: Candidate must be willing to travel 10-15% for direct vendor negotiation and industry trade shows.
