Genesis10 is Hiring a Database Administrator Near Jacksonville, FL
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain change control and testing processes, reviewing and approving database modifications
- Create and maintain documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, testing failover and recovery plans
- Monitor database performance and troubleshooting issues
- Optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills
- Experience architecting a large-scale production database platforms
- Expertise with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies
- Familiarity with system level metrics and practical use of common Linux utilities
- Mastery of one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Bash, etc.
- Understanding of virtualization and clustered environments
- Communication skills and the ability for both teaching and learning
- Ability to create enterprise backups and restore procedures
- Possess a minimum of 6 years practical experience on Postgres enterprise platforms
- PostgreSQL DBA experience in a 24x7 production environment
- 6 years of Postgres database management
- Ability to create various Postgres Clustering configurations
