JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Data Architect oversees the execution of data delivery strategy utilizing Denodo. They are involved in all phases of analytic projects, from requirements gathering to data architecture, integration guidance, and support artifact development. This Sr. Architect demonstrates senior-level leadership skills and experience in guiding the team to build a self-sustainable BI platform. They will establish best practices, define and govern data architecture standards, lead development efforts, manage BI demand, coordinate resources, prioritize scoping, and mentor others in development practices. The ideal candidate provides business insight, solves complex problems, and navigates organizational dynamics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Engagement:

• Collect feedback and influence stakeholders to prioritize data-centric work products.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to source, review, and deliver data-related solutions.
• Create and track KPIs for enterprise data virtualization service capability.

Architecture:

• Refine the current Denodo deployment for Analytics, BI, and Applications.
• Ensure data security throughout user, application, platform, and data layers.
• Design integration with front-end tools and back-end applications and data.

Process:

• Establish processes for Architecture and code review, and development for Denodo engineers.
• Continuously refine processes by measuring process-related KPIs.

Development:

• Maintain and extend agile data development methodology.
• Create reusable secure and performant data layers.
• Optimize solutions, including caching, refactoring, and performance testing.
• Define data catalogues.

Admin/Support:

• Troubleshoot issues within the data platform and consuming apps/tools and data sources.
• Ensure SLAs are met for business-critical data platform response and resolution times.
• Establish and implement operations to keep the platform stable and up-to-date.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise one or more employees.
• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 10 years of in-depth hands-on experience in data modeling and SQL.
• 3 years of experience in Denodo.

Technical Experience:

• Proficiency in Data Virtualization and Denodo Administration.
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles and data modeling.
• Experience with SQL, LDAP, SSL, JDBC, XML, and Web Services APIs.
• Knowledge of SAP, CDS views, BW queries, Hana database, and other systems.
• Familiarity with combining Hana, SQLServer, Amazon S3, and APIs.
• Certification in Denodo platform (architect level) preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Denodo platform certification (architect level).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Analyzing and interpreting data, communication, and computer work.
• Occasional travel to other sites (up to 20% domestic travel).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office environment with occasional exposure to different conditions.
• Quiet noise level in the office, occasional exposure to loud noise.
