RN Supervisor Job Description:

Title: RN Supervisor

Direct Reports: Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing you are responsible for providing the highest quality of care in our 117-bed facility to our residents in a family-like environment. You will be required to direct and schedule daily assignments to nursing staff members and work with other departments to provide exceptional care. You will give/receive reports to/from nursing staff at shift change. You will assist in the care of medically involved and acutely ill residents. You will oversee the completion of required documentation, the on-going of staff training, and following policies and procedures set forth by the facility and federal guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Currently licensed as an RN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices.
• Knowledge of measuring and administering medications.
• Prior knowledge or experience with Point Click Care preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs and assesses the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations that govern the long-term care facility.
• Completion of admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents.
• Maintaining accurate and complete documentation of records.
• Administering medications to residents and monitoring them for side effects.
• Ordering medical diagnostic or clinical tests as required by the physician.
• Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in the resident's health to the physician.
• Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating resident nursing care plans by working with the healthcare team members.

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have the ability to work in a high-pressure work environment.
