Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer for a 6-month renewable contract position with a strong preference for candidates who are interested in converting to fulltime. This role is for a P&C/Reinsurance agency and 100% remote.
Summary:

• Azure Cloud Engineer will work with development teams and other infrastructure engineers to solve critical issues. The initial work will be a combination of development of azure kubernetes services along with other azure engineering work. Successful candidates must have worked in Microsoft Azure environments, and have experience with AKS, Azure PaaS, IaaS /developing Infrastructure code. The candidate must possess strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, communications skills, and demonstrated great problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities:

• The desired candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our cloud-based infrastructure. The candidate will collaborate with development teams and fellow infrastructure engineers to address critical issues. Proficiency in cloud technologies, containers, Kubernetes, networking, security, scripting, automation, and platform engineering is essential for ensuring seamless system operations. The candidate should possess strong technical aptitude, analytical and communication skills, and exceptional problem-solving ability.
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-based services, promoting efficiency and self-service principles.
  • Assist in architecting, designing, and implementing cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions with a focus on platform engineering.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment, empowering engineering teams.
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration, monitoring, and scaling.
  • Drive efforts to enhance cloud infrastructure security, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments, with a focus on engineering security solutions.
  • Collaborate on continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software deployment, emphasizing engineering and self-service automation.
  • Define and maintain cloud engineering best practices and standards to ensure design and implementation consistency.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to optimize applications for cloud deployment, emphasizing performance and scalability.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud and DevOps technologies, providing recommendations for integration into cloud engineering practices.
  • Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization for cost-effective cloud infrastructure usage.
  • Troubleshoot complex engineering issues, provide root cause analysis, and propose engineering-focused solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to the cloud infrastructure, engineering practices, and security configurations.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 5 years of cloud engineering and design experience.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with a focus on engineering best practices.
• Extensive experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• In-depth knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and security best practices for high-performance solutions.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, effective in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for efficient engineering workflows.
• Relevant industry certifications.

Pay rate range: $70.00 - $78.00 hourly.
