Job Description

We need a full-time Shift Lead who can hit the ground running. Shift Leads are the Junior Leaders of the retail store. Shift Leads work closely with Store Leaders and are trained in Store Leaders duties and directives. When necessary, Shift Leads step in and run the store if the Store Leader is having their attention and focus put on leadership projects and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a “guest comes first” environment through training and holding team members accountable for providing wow-ful guest service to every guest
• Converse with guests to understand their needs and the needs of the local community
• Lead by example to promote the culture, values, and mission of Gen V
• Manage guest and team conflicts calmly and effectively
• Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate appropriate responsibilities and practices to team members to keep the store running smoothly and up to cleanliness standards
• Monitor and manage team member development
• Provide team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities with an eye toward building effective teams
• Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and programs as well as by finding new, creative, and effective methods of recognition (well placed ‘Atta-boys’).
• Utilize and demonstrate effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful store team resulting in an environment where team members are valued and respected
• Ensure team members adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements
• Identify potential issues and prioritize communications to management team
• Cascade communication and marketing execution to team members to ensure effective implementation of policies and promotions
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with peers in the surrounding area
• Track sales trends with inventory levels to ensure the stocks levels meet guests’ needs
• Assist in reconciling store inventory and troubleshoot discrepancies in inventory with the Product team
• Challenge and inspire team members to achieve retail results
• Brainstorm and implement programs to increase sales and/or improve store operations
• Reconcile nightly cash drops
• Learn Store Leader duties and fill-in for Store Leader when needed
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of retail or guest service experience
• Management experience
• Proven track record of excellence
