SUMMARYThe Program Manager position is required by each new construction program of extended duration (at least 2 years) with an expected sales value of at least $300,000,000. The position objectives require the assigned individual to administer contracts by managing program costs, schedules, product performance, and contract/specification compliance. Position requires the management of all resources, materials, and manpower required to support the assigned new construction program.
The Program Manager is assigned by, and vested with the authority of the President to manage the successful accomplishment of a new construction program. The Program Manager reports to the Vice President Programs.
The Program Manager is required to develop and effectively manage relationships with senior executives from external organizations including, but not limited to US Government civilian and military personnel, commercial ship owners and ship operating companies, sub-contractors and suppliers, classification societies, and regulatory agencies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work occurs in both an outdoor shipyard environment and in an office setting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.Requires ability to commute physically to various areas of the shipyard including but not limited to shipboard activities. Must be capable of ascending/descending stairs or ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, and transiting through manholes and other confined, congested spaces. Physical dexterity must allow for bending and reaching. Must remain alert and comply with all safety requirements. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed occasionally to dust, fumes, and smoke. Must be able to spend up to 50% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates. The noise level is relatively low to moderate in office environments. The noise level in the outdoor shipyard production environment is moderate to noisy 70% of time which may include sirens, horns, chipping, and hammering.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Program Manager is accountable to the Vice President of Programs and to the NASSCO President, for Program performance and profitability.
Pay Scale
$155,200 - $208,200
This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
