Position Summary

General Atlantic is seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Finance team as a Finance Analyst. The Finance Analyst will have responsibilities focused on supporting the firm’s Capital Partnering (i.e., Investor Relations) team and investors. In this role, the Finance Analyst will be involved in investor & internal reporting, financial modeling & analysis and other projects. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Finance.

Responsibilities

  • This role entails developing a deep knowledge of our investment program, portfolio, and investors. The Finance Analyst will be responsible for maintaining complex Excel data models that are substantial in size and require sharp attention to detail. The Finance Analyst will implement controls and perform reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information being reported. The information generated from these models is used for, among other things, the firm’s capital raising, investor reporting and regulatory reporting.
  • The Finance Analyst will be responsible for aggregating significant amounts of data, as well as the preparation and review of various recurring reports and other ad hoc deliverables provided to investors, the Capital Partnering team and other internal teams. Examples include investor portfolio valuation reports, reporting templates and the firm’s semi-annual investor update letters and portfolio reports. The Finance Analyst will also produce information for presentations and other materials used in meetings with current and prospective capital partners.
  • The Finance Analyst will also work on assignments requiring financial modeling and analysis. Examples of typical assignments requiring data analysis and modeling include preparing cash flow projections for capital commitment increase/renewal proposals to investors and portfolio specific analyses requested by the Capital Partnering team and investors.
  • The Finance Analyst will also assist with other projects from time to time, such as developing new reporting deliverables, identifying opportunities for process improvement & automation, and implementing new data management and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have 2 years of work experience in a finance or accounting role. Previous investment company or Big 4 audit experience with investment company clients is preferred. Candidates should also possess the following attributes:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance or accounting with a strong record of academic achievement
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (should be proficient with lookup formulas, pivot tables and macros)
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to deliver work product of high quality and accuracy
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks while working under strict deadlines
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively and convey clear updates in a team environment
  • Proactive and positive work attitude; willing to go the extra mile
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Anaplan, or similar data management & visualization tools
