Job Description

Job Description

The Construction Inspector will be responsible for contract oversight and inspection on this task order. To ensure that the design / build contractor is in compliance with contract documents, the USCG FDCC has identified a requirement for construction inspection services.

The construction inspection services shall be performed by a full-time (40 hours per week) Construction Inspector (CI) which provides surveillance at the site of the project.

Additionally, services may require the CI to exceed standard work hours by up to 10%. The CI shall be capable of reading contract drawings and specifications.

Furthermore, the CI shall have a minimum of ten (10) years of applicable experience on similar construction projects. Additionally, the CI shall have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience on Federal Government construction projects as a government CI or Contractor Superintendent or Quality Control Manager.

Scope the Construction :

The project consists of construction and renovation (updated for code compliance) portions of Annex D, Chase Hall to include new slate roof and new windows.

Renovations are as follow :

  • New Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning
  • New fire detection / alarm system and Mass Notification System (MNS)
  • Installation / replacement of a fire protection sprinkler system
  • Communication systems modernization
  • Electrical systems modernization
  • Interior finishes repairs and modernization
  • Abatement of asbestos containing building material
  • Encapsulation / disposal of Lead Based Paint (LBP)
  • Toilet / shower spaces (including ADA toilets and showers)
  • Fire protection / alarm systems
  • Replacement of existing elevator
  • New CCTV system for all corridors, all stairwells, all stair landings, and basement areas
  • Roof repair where existing rooftop mechanical equipment / penetrations will not be reused.
  • Various exterior building envelope modifications such as louver installations in existing masonry and cast-concrete walls or at existing window locations
  • Installation of ice breaks on the slate roof
  • New berthing room furniture
