Genacross Lutheran Services is Hiring a STNA Near Holland, OH

Pay Rate - $15/hour. Offering sign on bonus of $6,000 over 1 year. Pick-Up pay $6/hour.

Basic Purpose:

Responsible for the delivery of quality, resident-centered services in short-term and long-term care, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and government regulatory agencies.

The following lists of duties are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by the incumbent. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of duties performed by the incumbent.

I. Primary Duties:

  1. Provide quality personal care to ensure that residents are comfortable and are provided with the highest quality of care. Adheres to all guidelines learned through the STNA training program and state guidelines as well as complies with the Home’s policies and procedures.
  2. Complete administrative requirements to ensure that proper documentation is maintained. Completes paperwork, medical forms, charting and all required documentation as a part of the resident care process and the transition of care process.
  3. Assists the residents during the admissions, transfer and discharge process to provide ongoing quality care and assurance during transition periods.
  4. Follow care plan functions to meet the specific needs of each resident. Focus on resident’s individualized needs and encourage resident’s ability to make personal choices.
  5. Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.
  6. Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
  7. Accepts direction of charge nurse in relation to direct resident care.
  8. Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as determined by the Director of Nursing.
  9. Maximizes the stewardship of all resources.

III. Qualifications:

  1. Current State of Ohio STNA certification.
  2. One to two years experience in long-term care setting preferred.
  3. Familiarity with basic computer skills. Ability to learn new software applications as required by the position.
  4. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.
  5. Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly.

IV. Miscellaneous Details:

  1. Physical demands are moderate in nature and may require lifting up to 100 pounds; sitting, reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing and seeing.
  2. Moderate regional travel may be necessary in this role.
  3. Working conditions are inside in well-lighted, well-ventilated areas.
  4. The principal contacts for this position will include Ministry Support staff, all levels of corporate and facility staff, outside vendors, and business representatives.
  5. The general requirements will include the executions of all terms and conditions set forth in the Genacross Lutheran Services Employee Handbook, including, but not limited to:
      1. Works in a safety-conscious manner that ensures safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace and in compliance with OSHA standards.
      2. Interacts in a tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment, which ensures the self-respect, personal dignity, rights, and physical safety of each resident and center guest.
      3. Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
      4. Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
      5. Adheres to policy on Drug Free Workplace.
