Reports To: Tool & Die Fabrication Leader
Status: Full Time / Overtime as necessary
Location: Ubly, MI
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Industrial Truck License
- Motor coordination, manual and finger dexterity
- Blueprint reading skills
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Excellent math skills
- AutoCAD skills
- Associate's Degree in related field
- Currently enrolled or will enroll in a Tool & Die Apprenticeship program a plus (would be eligible to become an Apprentice Tool & Die maker with this)
Essential Job Functions
- Design input and build tooling. Confidence in self and pride in a job well done.
- Repair tooling on and offline.
- Maintain and repair all tooling machines. Be neat, clean, and organized.
- Inspect the first parts produced by each new die.
- Troubleshoot all existing dies. Follow through on issues and pay attention to details.
- Ability to listen and follow directions.
- Inspect all toolmakers' work.
- Research and develop new tooling jobs and produce prototype samples.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including weekly progress reports, check off sheets.
- Efficiently operate a wire EDM, CNC milling machine, Bridgeport's, surface grinders, and rill press.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with internal & external customers.
- Have a good team attitude and problem-solving skills.
- Be willing to travel domestically and internationally to support the other extrusion facilities.
- Welding skills a plus.
- Ability to help others, regardless of department or role.
