Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Engineer of Record, the Trimble Equipment Operator undertakes a broad spectrum of responsibilities involving the operation of Trimble equipment to produce accurate construction layouts. This role requires effective communication with team members, the ability to read and interpret drawings and project documentation, and excellent math and problem-solving skills. The Trimble Technician plays a crucial role in coordinating layout, providing recommendations for project efficiency, and ensuring accuracy through the process.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate the Trimble equipment using standards to produce accurate construction layouts.
• Coordinate layout and project execution workflow alongside project leaders.
• Attend coordination meeting to provide recommendations on efficient project layout.
• Consult with design staff to review project deliverables for accuracy and contract requirements.
• Perform quality checks during the entire process.
• Regularly communicate progress updates to on-site leadership and office management.
• Provide in-office BIM coordination and drafting support.
• Safely complete tasks with a high level of accuracy in various working conditions.
• Properly maintain and care for Trimble unit and associated equipment.
• Utilize software packages to produce or update documents, spreadsheets, databases, email, and other information secondary to deliverables.
• Complete design progress updates in Revit.
• Perform 3D scanning and drafting services required for deliverables.

Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience using Trimble equipment.
• Basic knowledge of MEP systems in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD software to create working Trimble files.
• Normal office hours 8 am – 5 pm, Monday thru Friday
