Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Engineer of Record, the Junior Engineer undertakes a broad spectrum of engineering, design, and drafting tasks to facilitate the creation of construction drawings. This includes project setup, meticulous drafting of HVAC systems, conducting HVAC load calculations, and fundamental equipment sizing. The role also involves the mechanical design and layout of air-side systems. Actively participating in project design meetings with team members and various disciplines, the Level I Engineer promotes seamless design coordination. Additionally, they contribute to the project team by assisting in deliverable assembly, overseeing quality check processes, and handling various construction administrative tasks.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Attending project design meetings from project kick-off to close-out document delivery.
• Set up project views and sheets, overseeing the drafting of HVAC systems, schedules, details, etc.

• Perform HVAC load calculations and preliminary air balance calculations, providing foundational data for the Engineer of Record to finalize.
• Assist the Engineer of Record/Design Engineer in tasks like design layout, ductwork sizing, and multi-disciplinary coordination to produce construction drawings, shop fabrication drawings, and deliverables to collaborators.
• Utilize Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and proficiency in word processing and Excel for core production tasks.
• Assist the Project Design Engineer in conducting existing building surveys for assigned renovation projects.
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of GEMCO drafting standards and design library products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Traits/Competencies

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software. Basic navigation, open/print/save and similar basic tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology
• Normal office hours 8 am – 5 pm, Monday thru Friday

Physical Demands

• Standard office work (85%)·
