Ged Lawyers is Hiring a Remote Attorney - PIP

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an empathetic, highly skilled, and motivated Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Attorney to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law, particularly handling PIP claims in the state of Michigan. You’ll handle the case file from start to finish with support from our team of legal professionals. As a PIP Attorney, you’ll champion our clients’ rights, compile compelling evidence, negotiate with insurance companies, and tirelessly pursue the compensation they deserve.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrated capacity to efficiently handle and supervise a large case load.
  • Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly.
  • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information.
  • Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation.
  • Prepare various legal documents including motions, memorandums, demand letters, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Respond to complaints, discovery requests and file motions with the court as needed.
  • Oversee all aspects of litigation up to and through trial of the case and assisting senior attorneys in trial.
  • Provide compassionate legal counsel and support to clients throughout the claims process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in the State of Michigan in accordance with the Michigan Bar Association.
  • Must have 5 years of litigation experience.
  • 3 years of proven experience in Personal Injury Protection (PIP).
  • Excellent communication, speaking, customer service, interpersonal, organizational, decision making and relationship building skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills, particularly on behalf of the plaintiff.
  • Ability to be a collaborator and work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Candidates must be organized, detail oriented, comfortable working independently, possess excellent follow-up skills and be able to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience with Litify a plus and e-filing systems in state and federal courts.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
