Job Description SummaryProvides leadership and planning for all Outbound shipping operations in support of high-volume turbine assembly operations. Responsible for Operational Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, managing a team of technicians. Responsible for making business-critical decisions in a timely manner while demonstrating leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes. Utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others. Promote a high level of employee advocacy. Affect short-term and some long-term business goals.Job DescriptionRoles And Responsibilities
Lead fulfillment of business rail and truck shipping plan to ensure delivery meets site and customer expectations
Develop an operational year plan for site Outbound Shipping activities; Suggest improvements in products, processes, and procedures
Provide direction and support needs for assigned technicians, which includes resource and coverage planning, scheduling overtime, timekeeping and supporting factory priorities
Monitor adherence to daily production goals and targets and work inclusively with leaders and employees to ensure fulfillment goals are met
Drive daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments with top quality at the lowest cost while implementing a strategy to reduce cycle times, reduce in-process inventory levels, and improve quality and safety
Work with cross-functional peers, inclusive of the Outbound Logistics and Allocations team to troubleshoot and resolve fulfillment issues as they arise
Work to maintain and further develop Visual Management, including support for 5S, materials and metric displays
Develop and support the professional growth of all employees
Support all company workplace policies, including attendance and safety objectives
Monitor performance against factory/business objectives (operational and financial) and take proactive action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting these objectives
Ensure compliance with business, quality and safety standards
Develop, coordinate, lead, execute, and monitor daily goals and targets
Develop and execute training plans
Coordinate consistent and effective shift-to-shift transition
Develop and implement process controls
Support Cell Leader in the strategic planning of workforce, equipment, and other resources
Coordinate resources to achieve goals with a timely and cost-effective strategy
Support, encourage, and drive core manufacturing and Lean principles by providing adequate time for training defining and influencing teams to accomplish continuous improvement projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years in manufacturing, operations, or logistics)
Ability to work weekends, any shift, flexible hours when needed
