Job Description

Position Summary:

Knowledgeable in facility maintenance, equipment repairs, equipment installations, maintaining machinery, and machine tool equipment. Supervise employees who perform maintenance. Impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that equipment and tools are in good condition for use. Propose plans for preventive maintenance and corrective action.
  • Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Responsible for the Management of Change process for facility.
  • Supervises employees in Maintenance Department and Facilities.
  • Manages the GE maintenance work order tracking system and asset critically list.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations.
  •  Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics.
  • May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Willing and able to work overtime any shift and weekends
  • Requires the ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Operate a man lift, forklift and articulated boom lift
  • Must be proficient in repairing and maintaining machinery in operating condition
  • Have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace mechanical and electro-mechanical systems

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, nationals of the United States, asylees and refugees) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • Must pass physical, background, and drug screens

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • CAD/CAM knowledge and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s))
  •  Experience using maintenance system
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
  • Proven experience and willingness to be self-directed and identify improvement processes
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with others in a team setting
  • Follow and promote safe work practices
  • Communicate effectively with others

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
