Job Description

The Project Manager will perform daily management and oversight of janitorial and facility maintenance activities in support of the contract.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages the day-to-day direct supervision and development of employees, including scheduling, work assignments, dispatching, training, motivation, and progressive discipline.
  • Assists with the day-to-day implementation of the open-work order activities, strategic planning, and managing to ensure conformance with established contract requirements.
  • Supports the Project QC/SSHO in promoting and making employees aware of the importance of Safety and Safe Work Practices.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are maintained in good condition & proper housekeeping is maintained daily.
  • Assists the Project QC/SSHO with immediate correction when non-conformant work quality is observed or reported.
  • Prepares required reports and analyses as required and/or directed by the senior leadership ensuring required documentation is maintained and submitted as contractually required.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems.
  • Develops and maintains good subcontractor, vendor, and customer relations.
  • Maintains effective communication with senior corporate staff, supervisors, employees, and customers.
  • Ensures the contract standards for work order completion are met.
  • Presents yourself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Performs all assigned tasks with confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Safety Requirements:

  • Complies with and actively participates in the GCR Occupational Safety & Health Program.
  • Perform all assigned work safely and reasonably that avoids preventable injury and preventable property/equipment damage to you, co-workers, Customers, the Company, and/or the public.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.
  • Through leadership and personal example, exemplify a personal commitment to and support of the Company/Project Safety Culture.
  • Monitor subordinate safety compliance, ensuring safety is an integral part of all work activities.
  • Take appropriate corrective action (stop-work, remedial training, disciplinary action, etc.) when subordinates fail to comply with established OSH policies & procedures to prevent recurrence.
  • Immediately report all occupational injuries, unsafe conditions, and/or property damage.
  • Use and enforce the wearing of personal protective equipment.
  • Always wear a seatbelt while operating/riding in a company vehicle, or a privately owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting as an agent of the Company.
  • Never talk on the phone without hand free option or text message while operating in a company vehicle or a privately owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting as an agent of the Company.
  • Not be unfit for work due to the presence, ingestion, consumption, or inhalation of illegal drugs, prescribed medications, over-the-counter drugs, and/or alcohol.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain base access.
  • Submit to and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.

Education and Experience:

  • The PM shall be a certified Project Management Professional.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing a workforce providing services on contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Prior experience working on government contracts.
  • Maximo and Costpoint experience.
  • OSHA 10.
