GCI's Specialist II, Supply Chain will provide key support for multiple functions in Supply Chain, including procurement, inventory control, provisioning, logistics, requisitions, and distribution.
Maintain supply chain channels to reduce time and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Essential Duties :
Ensures that account or order status is accurately recorded in order systems.

Job Definition :
Position Title : Specialist II, Supply Chain
Additional Job Requirements : At an intermediate level within the provisioning field must have a comprehensive understanding of telecommunications processes to proactively detect system issues, isolating between internal workflows, provisioning systems, and network performance, take corrective actions or notify and escalate to the appropriate departments for resolution.
Works with moderate supervision and completes tasks on time.
Minimum Qualifications :
Certifications : Industry specific certifications are highly valued and may contribute toward education or required experience.
Physical Requirements : Office position. Ability to perform sedentary work. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range and color.
Working Conditions : Most activities conducted inside under pleasant climatic conditions in a warehouse environment. Work can be intense and stressful due to time / resource limitations when scheduling multiple tasks with inflexible deadlines.
Working at a desk with a computer and phone. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds following safety guidelines, greater weight using company safety protocol.
Must be able to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, overtime, weekends, holidays, evenings, before or after normal shift hours and at other company locations.
Occasional travel to other company facilities may be required.
The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24 / 7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety mattersor other business emergencies.
Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency.
As such, you will be required to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.
Driving Requirements (if applicable) : Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
