ASRC Careers is Hiring an ASRC Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist II Near Anchorage, AK

The Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist IIis responsible for ensuring materials are purchased, received, processed, and distributed to meet project material requirements. This position helps coordinates logistics and implements purchasing and documentation processes to meet project schedules.Additionally, this position also works with the accounting department in accordance with company policies and represents the company professionally and ethically while developing and maintaining relationships with vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

1.Assists in supporting the management of all third-party spend within ASRC’s Alaska-based operations

2.Ensure the timely flow of information to suppliers, subcontractors, accounting department, specifically accounts payable (AP), shipping and receiving, personnel requesting goods, and job site personnel.

3.Work cooperatively with other departments in identifying and improving processes that lead to increased efficiencies throughout the organization.

4.Prepare requests for quotation documents

5.Generate and expedite purchase orders and manage procurement process in company’s ERP system(s)

6.Prepare technical bid evaluation documents and submit for review and approval.

7.Prepare commercial bid evaluations and submit for review and approval.

8.Work effectively with requestors to ensure correct information is provided, and material is purchased in a timely & cost-effective manner.

9.Make sure materials ordered are identified appropriately, specifically as they pertain to hazardous material, and work with Shipping & Receiving to ensure they are packaged in accordance with the appropriate federal regulations.

10.Ensure vendor and manufacturer documentation required are received in a timely manner

11.Assemble information and prepare reports for all ordered materials.

12.Review planned and non-planned work activities to ensure timely movement and delivery of goods to their required locations.

13.Assist the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager in coordinating various components of project logistics surrounding material receipt, delivery, and acceptance with project personnel.

14.Track returns to vendors to ensure goods and credit vouchers are appropriately received.

15.Resolve problems concerning purchasing and logistics, supplier or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.

16.Perform the purchasing process within the organization's ERP system from inception to closeout.

17.Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and consult with them to determine product availability and terms of sales.

18.Under the supervision of the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, analyze aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products or supplies.

19.Participate in capturing lessons learned; collaborate with the team to incorporate them in better control processes

20.Maintain proper records to document purchases in accordance with company policy.

21.Maintain records of goods ordered and received.

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR MANAGER OF INDIVDUAL CONTRIBUTORS LEVEL

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1.High School Diploma or GED.Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Logistics, or Business discipline preferred.

2.Two to Five (2-5) years purchasing and/or logistics experience ideally gained through increasingly responsible positions.

3.Experience working for a construction company, in the oil & gas industry, or an Alaska based company preferred.

4.Experience with managing multi-modal transportation functions throughout remote Alaska.

5.Working knowledge of purchasing, tracking, and payment systems, Oracle/SAP/Vista/Smartsheet experience preferred.

6.Knowledge and experience with procuring parts for heavy equipment is a plus.

7.Adhere to deadlines with a high degree of proficiency and accuracy

8.Hazmat IATA Dangerous Good Transportation (Preferred)

9.Hazmat Transportation DOT(Preferred)

10.Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

11.Valid driver’s license required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
