As the Human Resources Sr. Generalist, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive workplace culture and
ensuring the effective management of human capital across 6 (Sterling Heights, Shelby, Grosse Pointe, Lake
Orion, Flint) of Gateway’s 13 clinics. Under the leadership of the HR Director, your responsibilities will include
talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with relevant employment
laws.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Coach and support clinical leadership on employee relations issues such as performance management, discipline
    and/or termination in compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Support the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring qualified job
    applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for
    openings.
  • Oversee execution of performance reviews and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in succession planning and the development and execution of employee development plans.
  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws and ensure company policies align with legal requirements.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and facilitate open enrollment processes.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
  • Oversight of employment related regulatory matters, such as EEOC, Department of Labor, I-9, WOTC, unemployment
    compensation.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience of HR experience with increasing responsibility
    In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong Word and Excel skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify issues and create solutions
  • Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks while maintaining organization and accuracy
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • No past criminal history

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Weekly visits to core clinics
