Description

A successful Lending Representative will be responsible for soliciting, cross-selling, negotiating and coordinating the processing and closing of consumer loans (vehicle loans, personal lines of credit, signature loans, share/certificate/stock loans, etc.) They will obtain satisfactory supporting documentation as needed on all loans. Compliance with the credit union philosophy, policies and procedures is extremely important in this position. It is vital for the Lending Rep. to maintain good, long-standing member relations by referring members to the appropriate credit union services, which will also, ultimately yield referrals.

About The Position

• Handle member/non-member consumer lending requests/questions on the phone and in-person
• Process all consumer loan types and applications
• Prepare closing documentation and close consumer loans in-person
• Maintain accurate documentation necessary for all consumer loan types
• Ensure monthly loan reports are completed as assigned
• Process loan payoff requests
• Assist other employees with consumer loan information as necessary
• Knowledge of lending regulatory and compliance components (i.e. Truth in Lending, Reg. Z, Reg. B)
• Recommend changes to lending policies and procedures to management to ensure an efficient, well organized operation is maintained
• Keep all member and credit union business strictly confidential
• Perform other duties as assigned

About The Candidate

• At least two years prior work experience within a credit union or financial institution is preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least one year consumer loan processing experience is preferred
• Experience in the loan interviewing process
• Must have a good understanding of lending terms/definitions and the ability to apply them to various consumer loan scenarios
• Experience in calculating income, DTI, LTV and loan payment scenarios
• Must have full knowledge of Credit Union’s loan procedures and guidelines; and how to apply them to an array of different loan scenarios
• Must have full knowledge of both derogatory and complimentary credit reporting terms, meanings; and apply these correctly to loan recommendations and suggestions
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed
• Computer skills and knowledge of relevant application software use
• Ability to effectively communicate, work and interact with other

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment as the situation requires
