Parts Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Parts Inventory & Control across all locations.
• Create a centralized purchasing and receiving process for GTR.
• Responsible for ordering and maintaining stock levels for all makes, Carrier and Volvo part orders.
• Track and process branch transfer items.
• Invoice and packing slip matching.
• Work with the accounting department to resolve any invoice discrepancies.
• Responsible for parts inventory receiving and ensuring accuracy of orders.
• Responsible for creating new part numbers and auditing numbers across all branches to maintain uniformity across all locations. Ensure correct parts pricing.
• Responsible for processing all returns, credits and cores.
• Assist with physical inventory count yearly.
• Responsible for bulk purchasing and ensuring that the correct parts are allocated to each branch accordingly.
• Responsible for identifying obsolete parts (parts with no movement for 12 months) and work with management on ways to reduce this number.
• Advising Management regularly and on a quarterly an analysis of parts movement, obsolescence, and pricing strategies along with recommendations including special discounts to customers based on larger volume agreements.
• Subject matter expert and administrator for OEM parts computer systems. Trouble shoots problems as needed. Provide training as needed. Evaluate systems and recommend changes and upgrades as warranted.
• Establish relationships with vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Knowledge of parts inventory and ordering is very desirable.
• Proficient with computers.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
• Self- Aware: ability to handle stress under pressure.
• A commitment to great customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years' experience in ordering truck and refrigerated parts; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
