Gateway’s beliefs about people shape the company and the way we do business.Expected Outcomes and Requirements:Gateway is hiring a Material Manager to enable a more timely, efficient, and consistent flow of materials between our material suppliers and internal users. The Material Manager is expected to contribute in the following significant ways:
  • Receive, distribute, and store products as directed in designated locations.
  • Prepare and maintain records including dates of transactions, locations, and other relevant information for all shipped and received material.
  • Mitigate supply risk to maintain zero material stock-outs that could disrupt construction schedules or customer installs.
  • Review shipments for quality and accuracy.
  • Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments as requested by our internal and external partners.
  • Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using the approved transportation vehicle, e.g., hand trucks or skids, forklifts, vehicle).
  • Communicates, resolves, and escalates problems as they arise.
  • Analyzing financial reports, price proposals, and other information used to determine reasonable pricing.
  • Collects and disposes of scrap and waste material in accordance with approved SOP’s.
  • Understands and adheres to safe-work behaviors, SOP’s, quality standards, and business practices.
The successful candidate will bring the following to the table:
  • Natural initiator to take ownership of the materials management function, to ask for help, and to seek collaboration.
  • Demonstrated capability to understand and adhere to safe-work behaviors, SOP’s, quality standards and business practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong mathematic skills.
  • Functional capability using electronic material tracking systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related products.
  • Self-starter and efficient at managing time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or relevant coursework or formal training in related field preferred.
  • At least two-years of related experience required.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of time walking, standing, and manipulating.
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds at a time.
