Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services for proper billing and reimbursement. Your expertise in medical coding and knowledge of medical terminology will be essential in ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with coding guidelines.

Duties:
- Review medical records and documentation to accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG codes
- Ensure coding is compliant with regulatory requirements and reimbursement policies
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Conduct audits to identify coding errors or discrepancies and provide feedback for improvement
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical billing processes as needed
- Collaborate with the medical office team to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims
- Support medical collection efforts by providing accurate coding information

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) required.

-Experience with multi-specialty professional fee coding, including family practice, general surgery, home health, nursing home, chiropractic, hospitalist.
- Proven experience as a Coding Specialist or similar role in a healthcare setting
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II codes, and DRG assignment principles
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement methodologies (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
- Strong analytical skills to review documentation and identify coding discrepancies
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members

Note: All positions must be paid including internship positions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
