WHAT TO EXPECT
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Siloam Springs, AR plant, you will be a Lab Technician III.
- Reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Laboratory & Engineering, you will be responsible for providing chemical and/or mechanical testing support for material, product/system development, validation, and quality activities. This support includes fabrication of prototype samples, documentation of manufacturing feasibility trial. Also responsible for test set-up, inspections, and maintenance of lab equipment.
Key responsibilities (to name a few):
- Performs assigned test and/or training on equipment and procedures. Handles sample change and setup verification. Sets / adjusts controls, operating data acquisition systems.
- Monitors testing in progress, collects data and reports results using handheld instruments for precision measuring. Uses/updates lab order record in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as required.
- Provides support to Engineers for development and non-standard testing and initial set up of standard tests. Data entry/collection and reporting. Trains other technicians on test procedures and equipment.
- Mechanical and electrical Repair and Maintenance (R&M) of test equipment as appropriate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervision but may monitor progress of other technicians to ensure all testing on assigned test requests gets completed.
ABOUT YOU
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 - 6 years' experience in commercial lab or a lab supporting a commercial process
- Strong knowledge of product lines (hoses, couplings, belts, tensioners, etc.)
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access) desired.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, laboratory settings and test equipment, or quality assurance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform team lifts of over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
The noise level in the test lab and the plant are usually moderate to high. Ear plugs may be required in some areas of the plant. Employees are required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses throughout the plant.
